For Victoria the studio is like a comforting cave, allowing vision to be sharpened like steel is honed in the presence of fire and hammer. Clay is shaped by the hands, those same hands that reach to greet, to praise, to comfort, and to work. Some experience angst, anxiety, and fear about the process of creativity. The artist describes this process: "My belief is that by working with form (or even seeing beautiful form in nature, e.g., walking in the woods) ideas and creativity will arise. This philosophy springs from my inner faith that the 'Spirit' will guide me with inspiration." Within the studio all such possibility is held. "It is a place to work, play, fail, and resurrect my tenacious self—a place to feel the magic of clay and believe in the fire of transformation."
